Here is yet another mandala designs. This week's design is inspired by something a little different than the typical flower that most people would find beautiful - this one incorporates the shape of a beetle. Like the previous mandala this is etched and oxidized copper 1 1/2”(4 cm) diameter on a 36-inch vinyl cord with adjustable Love Knots terminal and copper wire bail, and as with the previous entry, here are some macro pictures that I've taken of beetles.

In my day job I am a biologist who studies the behavioral ecology of lizards. I have always been fascinated with lizards, snakes, and other reptiles, and with nature in general.
I started crafting as a creative outlet and a way to express my more artistic, less scientific side. Many of my designs reflect my interest in nature. Other themes in my work are western and horse motifs, which reflects my childhood growing up in Oklahoma, and then there are some things that are just pure silliness and fun (like Venture Brothers coasters or Dethklok glasses).
I started this blog to showcase my craft designs. Most of my items are for sale, so if you are interested in any of them, e-mail me at nikkiskeleton@hotmail.com. I enjoy doing custom work. Please contact me or leave your comments after the entries - I enjoy the feedback.
